Architectural Photography for Bay Area Project Teams

WHAT I PHOTOGRAPH
From exterior building views to interior spaces, landscape design, aerial perspectives, construction progress, and project video, I photograph the parts of a project that help tell the full story: form, materials, light, details, site context, and how the space is experienced.
The result is a practical visual library your team can use across portfolios, websites, proposals, awards, publications, and social media.
Help Your Completed Work Keep Working
A completed project can support your firm long after the punch list is done. Strong architectural photography helps document the design decisions, material choices, spatial relationships, and finished quality that may be hard to communicate through drawings or written descriptions alone.
The result is a practical image library your team can use across portfolios, proposals, award submissions, publication pitches, presentations, websites, and social media.

Photography for the Full Project Team
Architecture is rarely the work of one firm alone. Completed projects often involve architects, builders, developers, landscape architects, designers, consultants, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
I photograph projects with the full team in mind, creating images that can support portfolios, proposals, websites, awards, publications, social media, and business development.
When several project partners want to use the same photos, shared licensing can make participation more affordable for each firm than booking separate shoots.
A Simple Process for Project Photography
Architectural photography works best when the details are planned before shoot day. I help clarify the project goals, schedule, access, timing, and usage needs so the shoot is efficient and the final images are ready to use.
-
1. CHECK AVAILABILITY
Share your project location, timeline, and photography needs so we can confirm the best shoot window.
-
2. PLAN THE SHOOT
We review the project, key spaces, site conditions, access, timing, and any stakeholder needs before photography begins.
-
3. PHOTOGRAPH THE PROJECT
I photograph the project with attention to composition, light, materials, context, and the final uses of the images.
-
4. RECEIVE FINAL IMAGES
You receive edited, usage-ready files prepared for portfolios, websites, proposals, awards, publications, and social media.
Architectural Photography for Bay Area Projects
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, I work with architects, builders, developers, designers, and project teams throughout San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, the Peninsula, Marin, the East Bay, Silicon Valley, and surrounding Northern California communities.
Projects outside the Bay Area may also be considered when the fit is right.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Every project is priced as a simple flat fee—no hourly rates, no per-image charges, and no surprise costs. Most shoots fall under my standard pricing, but if your project is especially complex or outside the norm, I’ll just put together a custom quote. Either way, you’ll know exactly what to expect before we begin.

When multiple project partners — such as the architect, builder, interior designer, consultant, manufacturer, or owner — want to use images from the same project, shared licensing can make professional photography more affordable for each participating firm than booking separate shoots.
I handle separate agreements and invoices with each participant, so one firm does not need to coordinate payment or cover the full cost for everyone else.

I retain the copyright to all images, but you get a full, unlimited-use license. That means you can use the images in your marketing, proposals, website, social media, and printed materials—anywhere you need to promote your work, for as long as you need.
-
The license I provide is just for your company. If another party—like a builder, architect, or vendor—wants to use the images, they’ll need their own license. If the shoot hasn’t happened yet, they can join in through cost sharing, which saves everyone money. If it’s already done, no problem—I can still provide them with their own usage license afterward.

I’m based in the San Francisco Bay Area and regularly photograph projects throughout Northern California. If your project is located elsewhere, I’m happy to travel—just reach out with the details and I’ll prepare a custom travel-inclusive quote.
-
Not typically. I focus on architectural photography for architects, builders, designers, developers, and project teams — especially projects intended for portfolios, websites, awards, publications, proposals, and marketing.
If a completed project will also be used for real estate marketing, select image licensing can be discussed during booking.
-
You’ll receive your final, retouched images within 15 business days after the last day of shooting. If you have a specific deadline, let me know before booking so I can confirm whether the schedule can be accommodated.
-
It’s completely up to you. You’re always welcome to attend the shoot and give input in real time. Some clients like to provide a shot list ahead of time—which I’m happy to follow with some creative flexibility. Others prefer to be more hands-off and trust me to take the lead. In those cases, I’ll plan the shoot based on our initial conversations and what I know will showcase your project in the best light.
-
Definitely. When possible, I like to do a walkthrough—either with you or on my own—before the shoot. It helps me scout for the best shots and flag anything that might need staging or prep. Whether we do a walkthrough or not, I’ll guide you through the process and suggest the most impactful visuals based on your goals and the space.
-
Yes. Drone photography and select project video are available for many projects. These services can help show the building, site context, movement through the space, construction activity, and details that may not come through in still images alone. Availability depends on the project scope, location, airspace, weather, and schedule.
Note: I am an FAA-licensed Part 107 drone pilot, so I can fly legally for commercial work.
